Our Tradition & Operations

The Veterans of America Gun Club has served as a cornerstone of the community for generations. As a fully volunteer-run organization, our club is operated, maintained, and governed entirely by dedicated members who share a passion for responsible gun ownership, safety education, and the promotion of competitive shooting sports.

🎯 Range Specifications

  • Private Access: A secure, private membership indoor card-key range.
  • Shooting Points: 5 dedicated shooting points.
  • Distance: 50 feet per point, allowing for a full 15-yard shooting experience.
  • Caliber Limits: Only handguns and handgun-caliber rifles are allowed (No caliber larger than .45 ACP).

🛡️ Safety & Backstop

Safety is our absolute top priority. Our indoor facility features a safe ballistic block backstop engineered to safely absorb rounds and maintain a secure environment for all shooters.

All members are expected to strictly adhere to range protocols, sign in and out consistently, and uphold our longstanding safety culture.

đź“‹ Club & Range Rules

  1. All Firearms will be cased and uncased on shooting benches facing down range.
  2. Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.
  3. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
  4. Always keep the firearms unloaded until ready to shoot.
  5. Know your target and what is beyond; make sure the area down range is unoccupied and clear.
  6. Be sure the firearm is safe to operate.
  7. Be thoroughly familiar with how the firearm operates.
  8. Use only the correct ammunition for the firearm.
  9. Ammunition Use on Range:

    • Target loads recommended.
    • No caliber larger than .45 ACP is allowed.
    • No rifle ammunition allowed (30-06, .308, 5.56, etc.).
    • Only .22 rifles or rifles that fire pistol ammunition.
    • No pistols that fire rifle-only calibers (30-06, .308, 5.56, etc.).
    • No shotguns unless fitted with adapter to fire pistol ammunition.
    • No tracer rounds, incendiary ammunition, gas cartridges, explosive rounds, steel core, or armor-piercing ammunition.
  10. Eye and ear protection is required at all times.
  11. Never use drugs or alcohol before, during, or after shooting.
  12. Unattended firearms are not to be accessible to unauthorized individuals.
  13. You must be a licensed pistol holder and own the firearm in use.
  14. You must sign-in and out using the log book and record all information including your license number.
  15. You must follow all the instructions of the Range Safety Officer (RSO) at all times.
  16. Primary member is responsible for family members and guests.
  17. No one under the age of twelve (12) is permitted to shoot at the range even with parental/guardian/certified instructor present.
  18. All members must belong to the NRA and have taken an NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) course within six months of joining. Failure to comply will result in the termination of club membership. A minimum of one class per year will be given at the range.
  19. Members must provide a copy of their updated NRA membership card each year. Failure to comply will result in deactivation of key fob and suspension of club membership.
  20. Members must provide a personal email (no work or school emails). Key fobs of members whose emails do not function will be deactivated.
  21. Paper targets only. No placing any items on the floor.
  22. You must police the range upon completion of use, including sweeping the range, removal of all trash, and properly securing the range (shut down exhaust fan, close vents, turn all lights off, etc.).
  23. Range hours are Monday–Sunday from 8:30 AM – 10:30 PM. If a club event is scheduled or the hall is rented, you cannot use the range. Check the calendar ahead of time.
  24. Failure to adhere to these range rules will result in loss of range privileges by members or clubs!
